Toumaz Technology Wins Highest Accolade
At Oracle Innovation Awards
Nanoscience Inc, the specialist niche investor in emerging technologies with
strong commercial propositions from within the growing nanotechnology sector, is
pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Toumaz Technology Limited
('Toumaz') has been awarded first prize at the fifth Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN)
Innovation Awards for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The award from Oracle
Corporation, the world's largest enterprise software company, recognises the
outstanding innovation of Toumaz's breakthrough SensiumTM platform for wireless
vital signs monitoring. The Oracle PartnerNetwork is a global business network
of more than 17,700 companies who deliver innovative software solutions based on
Oracle software.
The OPN Innovation Awards are designed to reward innovation by OPN members,
where initiatives using Oracle's products and technology are applied to create
value for the customer and generate new business potential.
Toumaz was named overall winner in recognition of its groundbreaking SensiumTM
solution, an innovative ultra-low power wireless platform that allows healthcare
providers to remotely monitor multiple vital signs in real-time. Designed to
work with a range of physical and bio-chemical sensors, the multi-function
Sensium system can be attached to the body with a sticking plaster to deliver
continuous, non-intrusive monitoring and analysis of vital signs including
electrocardiograms (ECG), blood oxygen and glucose, body temperature, and even
motion and mobility. This real-time vital signs information is transmitted
through an Oracle Sensor Edge Server for further processing and filtering and is
seamlessly integrated into an Oracle Healthcare Transactional Database, where it
is analysed and made available to the appropriate specialists. This end-to-end
system provides the foundation for a total patient care package, with the
potential to revolutionise health and lifestyle management.
